‘US spy’ beheaded

MIRAMSHAH, Feb 2: The body of an Afghan national, killed on suspicion of spying for the United States, was found near Ghulam Khan in North Waziristan Agency on Friday, officials said.

An official said the beheaded body of Abdul Ghafoor of Khost had been found in a dry watercourse near Ghulam Khan checkpoint, about 7km north of Miramshah.

A chit found on the body read: “Abdul Ghafoor, 25, resident of Khost province, was passing information to the United States. Every spy will face a similar fate.” The body was sent to Khost.

There was a condition in last year’s local peace agreement that no person would be targeted on charges of spying but this was the sixth such incident in the agency.
