Faisalabad chalk up first win

LAHORE, Feb 3: Faisalabad dented Peshawar’s hopes of making the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League final by securing their first win of the season at the Iqbal Stadium on Saturday.

Faisalabad’s seven-wicket triumph inside three days earned them nine points which lifted them above Lahore Shalimar in the current standings.

Medium-pacer Ahmed Hayat was Faisalabad’s hero with figures of five for 20 as Peshawar were bundled out for 105 in the second innings.

Chasing 72 for victory, the hosts lost three wickets with Tauqir Hussain striking an unbeaten 38.
