HYDERABAD, Feb 4: The Sindh Abadgar Board has demanded that the government should fix the price of diesel at Rs26 a litre and of petrol at Rs39 a litre to help agriculture and industry make progress.

The board’s meeting chaired by its president Abdul Majeed Nizamani on Saturday said that the government should encourage the two productive sectors - agriculture and industry – to achieve economic and political stability.

The meeting called for strict monitoring to ensure availability of phosphatic fertiliser to the growers at fixed prices, and advised analysis of imported chemical fertiliser and its sale through registered dealers with full guarantee of fertiliser companies.

The meeting urged the SBP to direct all the scheduled banks to advance loans to the growers and demanded that the Agriculture Development Bank should grant loans to growers within eight days of submission of applications.
