DADU: Protest against drug dens

DADU, Feb 5: Activists of Citizen Action Committee observed a hunger strike unto death outside press club here on Monday to protest against narcotic dens running in the city with the connivance of police.

A large number of citizens, social workers belonging to different NGOs and political parties also took out a rally.

They marched on different roads and staged a demonstration. They were led by leaders of Citizen Action Committee Javed Ghallo, Inayat Jamali and Gul Mohammad Joyo.

They alleged that the narcotic dens were operating in many parts of the city with the convenience of police.

Later, four people Mehboob Chandio, Razi Kharal, Javed Abbasi, Mujeeb Panhwar observed a hunger strike unto death.

The JSQM president, Ghulam Hussain Lund, PPP leaders Dost Ali Jessar and others leaders of social organizations visited the hunger strike camp and assured them of their support.

VOTERS LIST: PPP MNA Rafique Ahmed Jamali has said that approximately 30 per cent of eligible voters would be deprived of franchise right as their names were not registered in voters list in Dadu district. He claimed that the number of such voters stood at 200,000.

Speaking at a meeting of PPP Dadu district on Monday, he demanded early arrest of those who sexually assaulted Kainat Soomro.

Among others, Ghulam Shabbir Abro, Kulsoom Chandio, Shafi Mohammad Memon, Dost Ali Jessar and Dileep Kumar also spoke.
