NAWABSHAH: Police raid PPP MPA office

NAWABSHAH, Feb 5: The Nawabshah police raided the office of a coach service owned by a People’s Party MPA at Katchery Road and arrested five people on Monday.

A heavy contingent of police, led by the Taluka Police Officer, Riaz Shah, raided the office of the coach service belonging to People’s Party MPA Tariq Masood Arain and others at Katchehry Road and arrested five employees namely Jameel Ahmed Khokhar, Sikandar Ali Zardari, Ghulam Mustafa Bukhari, Mohammad Ramzan Gujjar and Mohammad Iqbal Jatt.

Asif Awan, manager of the coach service, told newsmen at a press conference that police earlier tried to close the office and on Monday, a heavy contingent of police led by the TPO and the SHO A-Section, raided the office and arrested their five employees.

He further said that the police refused to accept a valid stay order granted by a court and parked its vehicles in front of their office.

He further said that police forcibly disembarked passengers from the bus and took it into its possession.

He apprehended that fake cases might be registered against the employees and demanded of the superior judiciary to take notice and provide them justice.

The TPO and SHO were not available for comments. However, a head munshi of A-Section police, told this correspondent that they received information of a clash at the office after which they reached there and arrested the people creating law and order situation.

He said that police have not sealed or closed the coach office.
