Tension in Nawabshah

NAWABSHAH, Feb 5: Tension gripped Nawabshah on Monday when a large number of people gathered in the Ghulam Rasool Shah colony after hearing that pages of Holy Quran were found in a bag thrown into a pond.

UC-3 Nazim Farooq Qureshi and other people told newsmen that a donkey cart man had thrown some bags into the pond. Some boys who took out the bags found that the bag containing pages of the Holy Book.

The police arrested Abdul Hameed, a member of the Masjid Committee, and the donkey cart man, Shahmir Magsi.

An FIR was lodged under section 295-B PPC against them.

The district nazim, Ms Faryal Talpur, zonal organiser of MQM, Nawabshah, Anwar Saleem, and police officials have appealed to citizens to remain calm.
