HYDERABAD, Feb 24: Sindh Taraqqi-Pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has accused the rulers of pushing the country towards fascism and said that restrictions on criticising the president, army and judiciary in parliament spoke volumes about authoritarian intensions of the rulers.

In a statement issued here on Friday, he said that the ruling party had got approved rules and regulations in the National Assembly in this regard which negated the concept of democracy.

He said that in a democratic setup, parliament was supreme and all the institutions and individuals were subordinate to it.

He said that the rules and regulations were tantamount to depriving the people’s elected representatives of right of expression and rendering the parliament ineffective.

He urged the elected representatives to raise strong voice against such dictatorial rules and regulations.

NAZIM: Matiari District Nazim Syed Mohammad Ali Shah Jamote has said that despite limited resources and non-release of development package funds for the new district, the district government in 18 months has electrified 106 villages, provided gas to seven villages, constructed 70 schools and 150 kilometres of roads.

He was speaking to the people in Bhanote, Haji Bachal Rajar village and other villages near Hala on Friday during inauguration of some schools and roads.
