QUETTA, Feb 25: Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf has said that Balochistan is inseparable from Pakistan and people will frustrate the designs of evil forces which are fanning hatred in the province.

Inaugurating the historical Sibi festival on Sunday, the chief minister said that the coming general elections would be a test for people and expressed the hope that they would support forces which were working for the solidarity and progress of the nation.

The chief minister said the government was fighting against terrorism, extremism and narrow-minded nationalism and added that anti-progress forces wanted to keep the province backward.

Jam Yousuf said the government of President Pervez Musharraf had taken practical steps for development and provided huge funds for mega projects in Balochistan which would bring about revolutionary changes in the society.

He said that the Gwadar seaport opening ceremony would be held next month, the Mirani dam had been completed and work on the Kachhi canal was under way.

He said that the government was providing special allowance to unemployed post-graduate youths and scholarships were given to students for modern education.

Federal State Minister for Petroleum Mir Naseer Mengal, provincial ministers, senior officials and tribal elders attended the opening ceremony.
