HYDERABAD, Feb 26: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences on Monday announced the results of final professional MBBS (new course) annual examinations 2006 of the LUMHS, Chandka Medical College and Nawabshah Medical College for girls.

Ms Urooj (seat No 726) secured first position by obtaining 1,467 marks and Fathima Rizniya Mooseen (seat No. 613) and Geeta Bai (seat No. 223) second and third position by obtaining 1,458 and 1,436 marks, respectively.

Result of two candidates has been withheld due to different reasons.

JSSF PROTEST: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Students’ Federation staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Monday against the arrest of JSSF president Kehar Ansari. They also called for removal of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Vice-Chancellor Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput.

The JSSF activists also staged a sit-in on the press club road as a result traffic remained suspended for quite sometime.

Speaking on the occasion, the JSSF leaders alleged that the vice-chancellor had destroyed the university through malpractices.
