ATTOCK, March 6: Two persons were killed and four women injured in an accident on Khor road Monday night, the Pindigheb police said.

Six members of a family were on their way to Pindigheb from Rawalpindi by car (IDF-4680) when their vehicle overturned at a sharp turn.

As a result, two persons identified as Abdul Rauf and Saima died on the spot, while four others — Rukhsana Ihtasham, Naseem Akhtar, Laiba Noor and Misbah Noor — sustained serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the Hassanabdal police seized a 30-bore pistol from the possession of Dilawar Khan, a resident of Swabi district.

THEFT: Thieves made off with jewellery, expensive clothes and Rs30,000 in cash from the house of a teacher, Ameer Afzal, at Sher Jhang village when the inmates were asleep, the Basal police said.

Similarly, outlaws stole power distribution equipment near Shahpur village in the jurisdiction of the Ranju police station.

PROTEST: Protest against the “abduction” of a doctor from outside the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital continued for the fifth day on Tuesday with demands for his early recovery.

District Bar Association, Attock, President Rana Afsar Ali Khan, PPP leaders Azmat Ali Bukhari and Malik Shahan Khan, and local activists expressed concern over the incident in which the authorities concerned are still clueless.

“It is worst kind of state terrorism and also extreme law and human rights violation, which shows that life and property of citizens is at stake,” they said.
