LAHORE, March 10: The six-year-old horse, Intikhab-e-Bhakkar, is fancied to win the Mohy-ud-Din Mohammad Alamgir Cup, featuring a card of six events for the Lahore Winter Meeting to be held at the Racecourse on Sunday.

This son of Tobesco Cat out-of-Shine On, Intikhab-e-Bhakkar has already won two back -to-back races and will be on the trot to make it a hat trick of victories.

Of the fourteen horses drawn for the feature event to be gone over 1300m, he is on top because of the form he is in at present.

None of his rivals has shown consistency and speed like him. Rough Tough and Trump Coup may fight for the less remunerative positions in this 5th race of the day.

In the supporting event, the Evernew Plate class IV division 111 to be contested over the sprinting distance of 1000m there are seven runners barring last-minute withdrawals.

Of them, the chestnut filly Chill looks set to prevail over her six rivals.

The filly from English sire Putra out-of-Sweety, enjoys handicap carrying a low weight of seven stones ten pounds. With a good rider up in the saddle she should claim the top honours. This will be sixth and last race in racing order.

Azam Love, Great Murad and Oriental Affair should fight for a place on the board.

Re Born, Cobbler and Jang Frau are the pick of the 14 left in after the scratching in the fourth race. Re Born looks better among the three on form and speed.

Speed Demon, Iconic and Faryal seem good among eight contestants in the third race.

The way Speed Demon ran second to Intikhab-e-Bhakkar on Feb 26 last, the gelding should win the spoils on Sunday.

Mama Mia, Malang Aya and Bosra Sham are perhaps the only three who have won a race or appeared on the board among ten runners listed for the second race. They should fight it in the same order.

Love Minister was extremely unlucky to be beaten twice on previous outings and should make amends this time by winning the opener. Black King, Dam Dama Dam and Lucky Coin should fight for a place. The first race will be held at 1.00pm.
