KARACHI, March 10: Five players banned to represent Pakistan have been permitted by Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to play at national hockey championship this month.

Controversial Mohammad Saqlain, Sohail Abbas, Mohammad Waseem, Ghazanfar Ali and Dilawar Hussain were banned by PHF chief Zafarullah Jamali from representing Pakistan while announcing Asian Games squad last year.

However, organising secretary Islahuddin Siddiqui, who is also coach of the national team till Beijing Olympics 2008, said players would not be invited for the national training camp for Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia.—PPI
