HYDERABAD, March 13: The Sindh Agriculture Department would provide agriculture implements and machines to the farmers at 50 per cent subsidised rates, said a spokesman for the Directorate of Agriculture Information on Tuesday.

He advised the farmers to file applications along with demand draft addressed to the director general of Agricultural Engineering and Water Management to be able to get the machines.

He said that the use of the implements would greatly help raise the land productivity and return.

LUMHS: The in-charge of postgraduate studies of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) announced on Tuesday that the interviews for admission to MD (Cardiology) and Diploma in Cardiology would now be held on March 24 at 10 am at the Postgraduate Medical Centre LUMHS instead of March 26-28.

EXTENDED: The registrar of the University of Sindh on Tuesday announced that date for admissions to BA, BSc, BCom, BSW, BSc (Home Economics) Part-I and II 2006-07 session in affiliated degree colleges had been extended to March 15.

PASC VISIT: The Sindh Assembly's Standing Committee on Food and Agriculture would visit food grain godowns under the control of Food Department and agriculture farms and field offices of Agriculture Extension on March 13-15 in Larkana, Sukkur, Nawabshah and Hyderabad districts.
