PESHAWAR, March 14: Mardan, Lahore Colours, Kohat, Peshawar and Abbottabad registered victories in the 54th National Hockey Championship preliminary round being played here at the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Mardan upset Bannu by a solitary goal in a close contest, Lahore Colours defeated Islamabad by a tennis score margin (6-0), Kohat powered Malakand by 3-0 in a one-sided affair, Peshawar edged past Multan by 2-1 in the thrilling battle and Abbottabad beat Dera Ghazi Khan 2-1. —Agencies
