Sindh ranking tennis from tomorrow

KARACHI, March 21: The 2nd Sindh ranking tennis tournament of the year gets into action at the CDGK Sports Complex courts from Friday with no player from interior of the province competing for honours.

The organisers have received about 75 local entries despite the fact that outstation players are given Rs300 daily allowance until elimination. They get Rs400 in a national ranking event.The Sindh Tennis Association (STA) has not been able to make participation of rural players from Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Larkana etc mandatory through their affiliated district bodies.

Meanwhile, Nomi Qamar and Seher Khwaja have been top seeded in the men’s and ladies singles events announced on Wednesday. The event carries a total prize money of Rs15,000.

Abbas Raza, Zuhair Raza, Adil Kohari and Khwaja Hamza were top seeded in juniors U-17, U-15, U-13 and U-11. The finals will be held on March 28.
