THATTA, March 22: The Chairman of the Sindh National Front (SNF), Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, has said President General Pervez Musharraf’s action against the chief justice of the apex court and subsequent onslaught on political activists, media and lawyers, has tarnished country's image world over.

Talking to journalists her on Thursday during “Sindhi Jago Sindh Bachayo” campaign of Sindh, he said by abusing his authority and playing with the sentiments of the nation, the president has made the constitution a mockery. He questioned the justification of “in-camera” proceedings of the reference against the CJP.

He said the claims and clarification of Gen Musharraf, that conspiracies were being hatched against him, were Ill-founded as he himself masterminded conspiracies against the nation and imposed himself as president in a dramatic manner.

He claimed that Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif would never launch any campaign against Musharraf regime.

Criticising Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, Mumtaz Bhutto, said such a power hungry man would again avail the opportunities to acquire power whenever he received a green signal from the ‘king makers’.

Earlier, speaking at District Bar Association, DBA, Thatta, he said under his particular agenda President Pervez Musharraf was strengthening MQM to convert the Sindhis into a minority.

He said Sindh was passing through the most crucial period in its history and the survival and identity of Sindh and Sindhis was at stake.
