KARACHI, March 26: Top seed Nomi Qamar and second seed Vinod Das were through to the men’s singles final after registering convincing wins over their opponent’s in the Sindh ranking tennis tournament at CDGK Sports Complex on Monday.

Davis Cupper Nomi was home without conceding a point 6-0, 6-0 against unseeded Robin Das while Vinod handed a 6-2, 6-2 defeat to third seed Abbas Raza. The final is slated for Thursday.

Zuhair Raza continued his winning run when he downed Abdul Rehman 6-2, 6-0 to cruise in the juniors’ U-17 final where he meets the winner of Mustafa Zaidi/Hasham Khan.

Adil Kohari, who claimed U-13 title in a Sindh ranking event last month, also advanced to the final of same category chalking up 6-4, 6-3 victory against Yayha Essa. He is drawn to meet Nameer Shamsi in a repeat final.

Upcoming Talha Surmawala claimed the boys U-9 title beating Sameer 8-0 in the final.

Boys U-9 singles (final):

Talha Surmawala bt Sameer 8-0.

Juniors U-17 singles, boys U-15 singles 2pm; ladies singles, boys U-13 (final) 3pm; men’s doubles, boys U-15 doubles 3.30pm.
