THATTA: 40 houses gutted

THATTA, March 27: A fire gutted valuables worth Rs5 million, 10 goats, and reduced to ashes at least 40 katcha and pakka houses belonging to Mallah, Solangi and Makrani communities in Gul Hassan Solangi village of Thatta on Tuesday.

The houses were owned by Dadu Mallah, Ladho Mirbahar, Aslam Makrani, Rafique Makrani, Mohammad Bux Solangi and others.

However, no casualty was reported.

Villagers claimed that the fire brigade staff reached the spot after one and half hour.

The cause of the incident could be not be ascertained immediately.
