SAHIWAL, March 27: What is in store for the locals when the mercury will be somewhere around 45 degree in May and June? They are already having the worst taste of it in shape of unscheduled loadshedding.
For the last few days Mepco’s Sahiwal circle has been resorting to switch-offs with rise in temperature.
Giving the new schedule which has not been made public, an official source said electricity would be suspended for four hours in the day and four hours at night in urban areas. “It will be six hours in the daytime and six hours at night in rural areas.”
Meanwhile, electricity supply to the DHQ hospital remained suspended for hours on the pretext of repairs as a result of which no operation was performed and X-ray and other machines could not be operated.

Woman dies: Police on Tuesday found body of a young woman and an infant crying beside it on Burewala-Chichawatni road near Chak 15/11-L.
The police said the initial investigation revealed that the deceased woman, Shamim Akhtar (23), left her house along with the infant son following a quarrel with her husband.
Police said the woman might have died in a traffic accident as her body was found lying near the road with her head smashed.
But, certain evidences belie the police claim, as the one-and-a-half-year-old baby found crying near the body had no injury marks, which should have been there in case his mother’s death had been caused by an accident.
Moreover, the postmortem report issued by the Sahiwal DHQ hospital also showed marks of violence on the body. DPO Syed Javed Hussain Shah has ordered a probe into the incident.
