HYDERABAD, March 28: Budhapur police did not lodge FIR of attempted murder case on Wednesday on the complaint of People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho despite orders by additional district and sessions Judge Kotri directing police to register her case.

Dr Pechuho, accompanied by her counsel Pir Mazharul Haq, former Sindh law minister, wanted to file a case a attempted murder against Sindh Minister for Relief and Power Altaf Unnar, Sindh Minster for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Dr. Sohrab Sarki, PML district Jamshoro president Malik Changez, Misri Khoso, Qalandar Bux Khoso and 70 others accusing them of firing on her during by-election of PS-71 on Feb 10.

She submitted police in Jamshoro a copy of court order directing them to register her case. Her cousin Dr. Aftab Zardari and Dr. Sikandar Shoro who had contested by-election on the seat as PPP candidate also accompanied her.

Her counsel said that the writer head constable (WHC) Manzoor Ali Jatoi said that the SHO of police station was not present and they were told that he on VIP duty. The policeman said that her complaint would be submitted to him after he returned.

The incident took place on Feb 10 at a combined polling station in Manjhand taluka of Jamshoro district during by-election for PS-71 where Dr. Azra, sister of Asif Ali Zardari, who was sitting in her bullet proof car, was fired upon. She remained unhurt.

After police refused to register her case she moved a direct complaint before sessions judge Jamshoro seeking registration of case.
