LAHORE, April 6: Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said on Friday that the railways had decided to launch the Lahore-Narowal Express to meet the long-standing demand of passengers.

He was addressing a press conference at the railways headquarters here on Friday.

He said the speed of trains on this section would be increased up to 100km per hour after the availability of funds to improve the tracks.

The government, he said, had also decided to double the rail track between Lahore and Rawalpindi.

He said the privatisation of tickets collection on various sections of the Pakistan railways was also under consideration besides the catering facility.—APP
