Attock Oil case hearing adjourned

KARACHI, April 11: Justice Mrs Qaiser Iqbal of the Sindh High Court adjourned the hearing of a suit instituted by Attock Oil Company against its exclusion from the bidding process of the Pakistan State Oil.

Advocate Wasim Sajjad appeared for the defendant Privatization Commission and sought time for filing a rejoinder. Granting the request, the court fixed April 24 as the next date.

The plaintiff says it is a member of the consortium which filed an expression of interest and statement of qualifications for acquiring the PSO, but was sought to be excluded from bidding because of reservations about one of its members, Dr Ghaith Pharaon.

According to a belated communication, ‘material information’ has come to the notice of the Privatisation Commission about Dr Pharaon.

The plaintiff, which is represented by Advocates Khalid Anwer and Ali Sibtain Fazli, was allowed by the court to submit its bid by an interim order on March 30.
