KARACHI, April 13: Wapda pair of Maria Toor and Muqaddas Ashraf clinched the team squash gold of the 30th National Games when they dethroned Army 2-1 in the final at PN Roshan Khan/Jahangir Khan Squash Complex on Friday.

Maria and Muqaddas, who won the women individual gold and silver medal, gave their team great start by winning their hard-fought matches. But Aliya Zafar lost her match against Zoya Khalid.

Sindh retained their bronze medal when they beat Punjab 2-1 in the playoff for third place.

In the men's team event Wapda will clash Army in the final on Saturday while Punjab will take on PAF for the bronze medal.

Wapda pulled off the major shock when they beat defending champion PAF to relegate to contest for third spot.—APP
