HYDERABAD, April 25: Sindh Rural Development Society president Mohammad Ilyas Khokhar has criticized the Tando Jam police for having failed to arrest the miscreants who ransacked the Sindh Agriculture University on February 24.

In a statement, he said that a clash had occurred among the members of three students' organisations at the university on February 20 in which six students were injured. One of those injured, Majid Rajput, died on February 24.

He said that following the death of Mr Majid, a large number of miscreants ransacked the university and the Sindh Agriculture Research Institute and damaged properties worth tens of millions of rupees.

He said that FIRs were registered by the Tandojam police but the police had failed to arrest the culprits till date.

Mr Khokhar demanded that those who had suffered losses due to arson should be compensated.—Bureau
