KOHAT, April 28: A cable operator’s office was damaged when some people threw petrol bombs into it here on Friday night.
The manager of Cable World 2000 told police that two people who came on a motorcycle lobbed petrol bombs into the office at 8:35pm and sped away towards east.
The same office had also been attacked on March 30. Four armed people had asked the manager to vacate the office and then put the office on fire, destroying monitors, computers and furniture.
Meanwhile, the provincial government transferred Kohat district police officer Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood “for failing to curb anti-social activities”. He served in Kohat only for five months. He has been appointed a deputy director, FIA, Islamabad.
The new DPO, Zahir Shah, a retired military officer, is expected to assume his office in the first week of May.
SHOP BLOWN UP: Local pro-Taliban groups in Darra Adamkhel, Frontier Region of Kohat, blew up a shop owned by a man dealing in fake currency who also gave money to the needy on huge profit margin.
Petrol bombs were thrown into the shop of Dilawar Khan Afridi in the Aziz Market in the main bazaar on Thursday night, destroying the shop and fake and real currency worth millions.
The political administration has registered a case.
In another incident, an explosive device planted outside the house of
Haq Nawaz in the Zarghun Khel area went off on Friday morning. The blast damaged the main gate, but there was no casualty.
