HYDERABAD, April 29: The Sindh Chamber of Agriculture, at a meeting here on Sunday, called upon the Sindh government to ensure installation of tube-wells for the agriculture sector in the province at concessional rates.

The meeting reminded the government that it had announced a policy for installation of tube-wells at concessional rates under which many growers had deposited a bank draft of Rs10,000 each and submitted applications to the department concerned. It added that a lot of time had passed but the tube-wells had not been installed.

The meeting demanded that the tube-wells should be installed without delay as there was acute shortage of water in Sindh.

The meeting was presided over by Syed Qamaruzzaman Shah and attended by Anwar Bachani, Mir Imdad Talpur, Qadir Bux Bari, Pir Nawaz
