HYDERABAD, May 2: The District Coordination Officer Mohammad Hussain Syed announced on Wednesday that the Sindh government had sanctioned compensatory payment to the legal heirs of 27 people who were killed and 11 who suffered injuries in an accident involving a Karachi-bound bus and a tanker on the National Highway near Saeedabad toll plaza on Dec 31, 2004.

The DCO advised the legal heirs to approach deputy district officer (human resources) with heirship certificates and CNIC for the release of compensatory payment.

The names of people who died in the accident are as follows: Danish, Zain, Dilawar and Uzair, sons of Raja Khan Pahore, Aisha, daughter of Raja Khan Pahore, Hurmat wife of Raja Khan Pahore, Ghulam Muhammad Pahore, Khan Muhammad Pahore, Aisha, wife of Inayat Ali Pahore, Sana, daughter of Ghulam Rasool Pahore and Aliza, daughter of Inayat Ali Pahore, all resident of Cantonment Station area in Karachi, Abdul Latif Soomro of Mirani Mohalla in Shikarpur, Naseem Fatima, wife of Imdad Naqvi Syed, Bilquees Fatima, wife of Sarwar Naqvi Syed, Parveen Fatima, wife of Nasir Naqvi Syed, Samreen Fatima, daughter of Zawar Hussain Naqvi Syed, Akhtar Hussain Syed and Mohammad Irfan Naqvi Syed, all residents of Nazimabad Karachi, Alaf Khan Banglani of Machh village Karachi, Nooruddin (Anwar) Bhutto of Shikarpur, Aurangzeb Khan Pathan, Yasmin Bibi, daughter of Badshah Gul, and Laraib, daughter of Madad Ali Khan, all residents of Shikarpur, Hafiz Abdul Haleem Shaikh of Gambat (presently residing in Karachi), Dil Nisar Memon of Moro, Mehrab Ali Sursani Baloch of Shikarpur and Asif Nazir Madan of Thari Mirwah.

Sajjad Ahmed Lakho and Ghulam Ali Arain, Naseem Abro and Nadir Ali Banglani had sustained injuries in the accident.
