HYDERABAD, May 3: Activists of the SNP staged a protest march from the office of DPO to the Hyderabad press club against registration of cases against party workers.

SNP leaders Ashraf Noonari, Ashraf Bhatti and Bachal Shoro said that the workers were being victimised for raising voice for Sindhis’ rights and against the district government.

They said that the police were raiding the houses of party workers to arrest them and demanded immediate halt to discriminatory treatment being meted out to Sindhi localities and withdrawal of cases against party workers.

APC: Speakers at an all-parties conference held in Tando Mohammad Khan under the aegis of Sindh National Labour Federation (SNLF) on Thursday vowed to foil what they called ‘conspiracy by Hyderabad district government’ against the language, culture and heritage of Sindh.

SNLF President Hakim Ali Halepoto said that Sindhi localities of Tando Wali Mohammad, Tando Agha, Hatti Mohalla and many other areas in the city began witnessing discrimination soon after the division of Hyderabad district on ethnic lines.

He said that nazim of UC-2 Qasimabad taluka Mehboob Abro and leaders of Sindh National Party had been implicated in false cases as punishment for raising voice for Sindhis’ rights.

The district organiser of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Maahaz Mohammad Ibrahim Soomro, PPP-SB leader Pir Ghulam Nabi Sarhandi, SUP leader Niaz Khaskheli and PPP leader Zahir Bhatti criticised registration of false cases against Mehboob Abro and SNP leaders.
