GUJRANWALA, May 5: PML Punjab women wing vice-president advocate Shakila Rana resigned from her office and the party membership on Saturday to express solidarity with ‘suspended’ chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

She criticised the government for “destroying the judiciary, media and other national institutions”. The chief justice, she said, always supported truth, pledging that the lawyers would spare no pains in fighting for the supremacy of law.
