Table Tennis camp begins

KARACHI, May 8: Four out of the twelve players bound for the World and Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships reported for training at a short camp at the PSB Coaching Centre on Tuesday.

The PTTF had invited the selected players to undergo strenuous training prior to their departure abroad. Those who have reported are the reigning national champion Ghalia Khurshed, Sadia Yasin, Ayesha Khan (women) and Abdul Rahim (men).

The remaining eight players - Sadia Falaksher, Ayesha Iqbal, Asim Qureshi, Saleem Abbas, Yasir Iqbal Bhatti, Ahmed Hussain, Kashif Razzak and Syed Owais Hasan are due to reach by Wednesday.Former internationals, Arif Khan and Nazo Tahir are supervising the men’s and women’s training while Saleem Ahmed is the camp commandant.

The World (individuals) Championship is to be held at Croatia from May 21 to 27 while the Commonwealth Championship runs at Jaipur from May 30 to June 5.
