JACOBABAD, May 14: The chief of Awami Tehrik, Rasool Bux Palijo, while condemning massacre of innocent people in Karachi on Saturday, said the country was being ruled by terrorists.

Talking to people here on Monday after condoling the death of Mohammad Nawaz Kanrani, an AT activist, he said the country ceased to exist as “Quaid-i-Azam’s Pakistan”.

Severely criticising General Pervez Musharraf for the Karachi carnage, he said a murder case should be registered against him and his companions.

He said the Sindh government was responsible for spread of terrorism in the country. While judges were maltreated innocent people were killed, he said.

“We are not against any community or Urdu-speaking people of Sindh, but we will oppose the “thugs" of Bangladesh, Mumbai and Delhi.

He said that these thugs became the rulers whose rule would never be tolerated as they were being opposed throughout the country.

He demanded immediate resignation of General Pervez Musharraf “for his onslaught on the judiciary and other state institutions including the press”.

The Awami Tehrik chief said that it was with the cooperation and support of the JSQM that the MQM opened its offices in interior of Sindh.

Others, who spoke on the occasion,. included Hakeem Zangejo, Zahida Shaikh, Zarina Kanrani, Sagar Brohi, Naziran Qureshi, Huzoor Bux Buriro, Javed Anwar Channa and others.

Earlier, hundreds of Awami Tehrik activists took out a procession which marched on various roads.
