LAKKI MARWAT, May 17: Five employees of an international cellular company were kidnapped on Thursday along with their vehicle from the Kurram bridge on the Indus highway.

The kidnapped persons, working for Mobilink, were identified as engineer Hamid Munir, supervisors Muhammad Afzal, Nayyar and Imran, and driver Sher Afzal.

The employees had gone to a deserted location to instal an equipment, it is learnt.

Witnesses said that at around 4.30pm some seven or eight armed men in a double-cabin pick-up vehicle abducted the persons. The kidnappers also took away their vehicle (JN-1887).

An FIR against the unidentified kidnappers has been registered at the Dadiwala police station. Police have cordoned off all roads leading out of the district and a search was under way for the recovery of the persons.
