MANSEHRA, May 20: Lawyers will boycott court proceedings and take out a protest rally in Mansehra on Monday when President Gen. Pervez Musharraf is due here on a visit.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the District Bar Association held on Saturday chaired by its acting president Wakid Ali Khan.

Advocate Mohsan Ali and others criticised President Musharraf for filing a reference against Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry. They said the suspension of the chief justice had undermined the judiciary.

They said that on arrival of the president in the area the lawyers would wear black bands in protest. The lawyers in a unanimous resolution decided to terminate the membership of all members who will participate in the president’s public meeting in the area.
