ABBOTTABAD, May 21: Top seeded Amir Atlas, second seed Mansoor Zaman, Yasir Butt and Farhan Mehboob booked their berths in the semifinals of the President PSF International Squash Tournament after defeating their rivals in the quarterfinal round being played here at Jan Sher Khan Squash complex on Monday.

Amir Atlas defeated Bilal Zaman by 11-5, 11-7 and 11-6, Yasir Butt defeated Shamas ul Islam by 11-6, 11-4 and 11-3 and Mansoor Zaman completed his tie against Safeer ullah by winning match at 11-5,112-10, 8-11 and 11-7.

Fourth quarter final between Farhan Mehboob and Majid Khan was played in typical rivalry manner and both the players remain in the court for more than 68 minutes. As both the players fought like wounded tiger, the tempo of the game increased with time. Majid who in final game left the court after objecting the decision of the match referee Faheem Gul, was declared the loser. The game ended at 10-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-6 and 10-5 (rtd).

Safeerullah, who is a wild card entry, proved his worth against seasoned Mansoor Zaman and put tough resistance against him in another thrilling encounter of the day.

Safeer taking full advantage of his footwork responded well to the sizzling shots of left-handed Mansoor.

However, Mansoor who recently won the Chief of Air Staff tournament at Peshawar was in full cry and remained all in control of the game to win comfortably.
