HYDERABAD, May 22: The Jeay Sindh Mahaz has condemned Karachi killings and said that it was an outcome of a `dispute between the supporters of dictatorship and those who want a change in the country.’

It cautioned the people of Sindh against the ulterior motives of some people and parties who were trying to give the bloodshed an ethnic colour, and urged the Sindhi people to support the struggle against dictatorship.

Participants of JSM central executive committee expressed these views during its recent meeting in Radhan which was presided over by party chief Abdul Khaliq Junejo.

It said that the reception accorded to Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, in Lahore was an expression of `no confidence’ in rulers. It said that joint protests by politicians and civil society had taken the wind out of the sails of Musharraf government, which used the Muttahida Qaumi Movement to stop people from receiving the CJP.

The meeting observed that the people of Pakistan had been exploited by successive rulers but the Musharraf government and its allies had broken all records.

It was of the view that the government had implemented the policies of international imperialism in letter and spirit during the last seven years. This was why the people were siding with lawyers in their struggle for an independent judiciary, the meeting observed.

It resolved to convene a special session of the national congress of the party to discuss the constitution and manifesto of the party in view of the fast changing situation.
