KHAIRPUR, May 23: The convener of the chief minister's district monitoring committee on education, Khairpur chapter, Niaz Ahmed Dahar, has observed mismanagement at a number of centres set up for classes-IV to VIII during the annual examination.

A detailed report in this regard has also been sent to the chief minister of Sindh copies of which were submitted to the minister and secretary of education here on Tuesday.

The report said that the committee members visited a number of examination centres set up in Pir Jo Goth Primary and Middle School Jiskani, Middle School Mehrab Ali Sodhro, Middle School Dubi, Middle School Wafa Nawaz Ali, Masjid Primary School Aminabad, Middle School Zawar Sher, Middle School Talli and others.

The convener observed in the report that the students had to pay extra for arrangement of questions papers/answer copies, while the same facilities were provided to students by the district government free of cost in some of the neighbouring districts.

He further explained in the report that 50 per cent of the question papers and 30 per cent of answer copies were short, no question papers were printed for Urdu medium students due to which the school management itself had to compile the papers.

The report further said that certain questions were missing in some papers while in some instance, mathematics paper for VI, VII and VIII classes were similar.It added that all the question papers were unsealed and were printed on low quality papers.

It further stated that the answer copies supplied were on three lines paper, which is normally used for English, causing difficulties to students of other subjects.
