QUETTA, May 30: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court has suspended the imprisonment sentence awarded to Khalid Lango, a leader of the National Party, by the Anti-Terrorism Court, Quetta.
The bench comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani accepted the submissions of the petitioner and suspended the seven-year imprisonment sentence awarded by the trail court for not appearing before the court to face charges.
The court also granted Khalid Lango an interim bail of Rs200,000.
Barrister Saifullah Magsi appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
RESTRAINED: The Balochistan High Court has restrained the Management of National Telecommunications Corporation from fresh appointment on the post of B-19 till the next date of hearing.
The court comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai on Wednesday issued orders on the constitutional petition filed by Mohammad Sagheer Mehdi, director of the National Telecommunications Corporation, Quetta.
The petitioner has challenged the direct recruitment on the post of directors BPS-19 in the corporation by the management of the National Telecommunications Corporation that was advertised in the newspapers.
The hearing has been adjourned till June 5.
