LARKANA, March 2: A fast train between Jacobabad and Karachi would be introduced soon, as the talks between the management of Sukkur and Quetta Railways had almost been finalized.

This was said by the Divisional Superintendent (DS), Sukkur, Yakoob Zardari while talking to Dawn the other day.

He said that Lahore Headquarters had given a go ahead signal to re-route the Bolan Mail running between Quetta and Karachi via Larkana, because a train, originating from Quetta for Karachi, ran via Rohri fulfilled the commuters requirements travelling from Baluchistan to Karachi.

He further said that under the condition the Bolan mail stood less important for the passengers that was why we had proposed that the Bolan Mail should originate from Jacobabad or terminate at Jacobabad and originate from Quetta.

It was a demand of the traders and citizens of Larkana to start a fast night train from Jacobabad to Karachi.

Lately the chief commercial officer of the Pakistan Railways visited Larkana and held talks with the leaders of the Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sindh Baluchistan rice Millers and Traders Association who pressed for the early start of the fast train.

The DS Sukkur was optimistic that his Quetta counter part would agree to rearrange the route of the Bolan mail that could raise revenue.
