MIANWALI: June 10: Unidentified people shot dead four people and injured five at a wedding ceremony on Saturday night in Manjha Ghundi, 55 kilometres from Mianwali.

Nearly 3,000 guests were present at the wedding ceremony of Captain Muhammad Faheem Khattak when electricity was suspended at 11pm. Taking advantage of darkness, unidentified people started indiscriminate firing with Kalashnikovs for 10 minutes. The firing left Khurshid Khan, Muhammad Shah, Muhammad Khan and Masoom dead. Those who were injured are: Muhammad Saleem, Mawaiz Khan, Nisar Gul, Havaldar Muhammad Riaz and Sepoy Zareen Gul.

Police rushed to the scene and shifted injured people and bodies to the Kalabagh Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

Relatives of the deceased and injured people said they had no enmity with anyone and it was a terrorist act. The people said the killer(s) had taken advantage of unscheduled loadshedding, so Water and Power Development Authority was also responsible for the deaths. — Correspondent
