THATTA, March 3: Five passengers were killed and five others were injured in a head-on collision between a coaster and a pickup, some two kilometres from Thatta, on the National Highway on Sunday.

Eyewitnesses said that the coaster (CL-6330), carrying picnickers returning from the Keenjhar Lake, went out of control and hit the pickup (KE-1295).

Ms Rehmat Chohan, Saleh Mohammed, Sikandar Mirbahar, Yousuf Memon and Marvi Chohan died on the spot, while Hanif Chohan, Sikandar Shoro, Urs Mirbahar, Shahbaz, and Nizam Seraiki sustained injuries. The coaster driver escaped.
