HYDERABAD, June 17: District nazim of Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that had the previous governments worked efficiently to provide basic amenities to the people, the present district government would have been in a position to upgrade various facilities.

He said that the district government had to start from zero point.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the newly constructed asphalt road at Rishi Ghat on Saturday night.

Nazim city taluka, Javed Jabbar, officers of the district government and a large number of elected representatives of the people attended the inaugural ceremony.

He said, it was the bounden duty of previous governments to provide basic facilities to the people such as water supply, sewerage, roads, health and education but it was not done. He said that water supply and sewerage problems of the citizens were resolved by launching massive development works and added that it was for the first time in the history of Hyderabad that asphalt concrete roads were being constructed.
