HYDERABAD, June 20: About three dozen activists of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside the press club in support of Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, who is also provincial head of the party and Senator Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, political adviser to the chief minister.
PML-Q Taluka President Syed Khalid Iqbal Jafri denied reports of divisions in the party and said that a few people who were pursuing their own vested interests were working against the leadership and trying to defame the party.
He said that those who tendered their resignations had nothing to do with the party. The party was united and well-organised in Hyderabad and the credit for organising the party went to the senator, he said.More than 30 senior office-bearers of the party in Hyderabad district have so far tendered resignations in protest against Senator Ghaffar Qureshi and refused to accept district leadership whom they called ‘group of five’.
ARREST: Tando Allahyar police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested seven hardened criminals including Ramzan alias Barsat Kalro, who was earlier reported to be dead, and found a snatched car, two motorcycles and weapons in their possession.
