HYDERABAD, June 21: PPP leader and MNA from Jamshoro district, Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur, has said that names of 35,000 voters of Jamshoro district have not been included in the lists.

In a statement faxed to Dawn here on Thursday, the MNA said that he along with MNAs Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Manzoor Wassan and Aijaz Jakhrani had met with the Chief Election Commissioner, Mr Justice (Rtd) Qazi Mohammad Farooq and informed him about the deletion and errors in the voters lists.

He said that in deh Petaro of Kotri taluka, 5000 bogus voters have been entered in the lists whereas names of thousands of voters of Thana Bula Khan taluka were not entered in the voters lists.

He alleged that the names of Matiari voters had been entered in the voters lists of Unnarpur of Jamshoro district, whereas the names of the voters of Manjhand had been entered in the voters lists of Kotri.

Mr Talpur said that the Chief Election Commissioner has taken a serious notice of the complaints about the voters lists and assured that a special team of the election commission was being sent to Sindh which will also visit Jamshoro and take stock of the situation.

FRUIT EXHIBITION: District government of Matiari has decided to organize a fruit exhibition in Matiari on June 27, to introduce the fruits of the district throughout the world and to find out fruit markets.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of district nazim Syed Mohammad Ali Shah Jamote. DCO Dr Mohammad Usman Chachar, officials of the agriculture department, EDOs of various departments, progressive growers Syed Haji Nadeem Shah, Syed Ghulam Mohiyuddin Shah, Haji Wali Mohammad Samoon and others attended the meeting.

The district nazim said the fruit exhibition will encourage the growers to improve the quality and quantity of fruits.

The producers of mango, banana, lemon and other fruits will display their products at the exhibition stall. The district government has already invited local and foreign traders, agents and brokers to attend the exhibition.

The DCO said that a seminar will also be held in Matiari on agriculture which will be addressed by experts and growers to discuss the latest technology and methods being sued in agriculture to increase the per acre yield and improve the quality of various crops.
