Seniors’ tennis from today

KARACHI, June 24: The third Seniors’ National Ranking tennis tournament begins at Karachi Club on Monday with over 30 players vying for honours in different categories.

Former national champion Altaf Hussain, Zahid Hussain, Syed Qutub, Rizwan Shamsi, Rafi Darbari (Hyderabad), Karim Gul Agha and Ijaz Sarhadi are among those who have confirmed participation.

Players from Quetta who were also supposed to feature in the event have put off their plans to travel due to rains.

The events to take place are men’s 35 singles and doubles, men’s 45 plus singles and doubles and men’s 55 plus doubles.

The draws of different categories are to be taken out in presence of participants at the venue on Monday evening.
