NAWABSHAH, July 4: The district and sessions judge of Nawabshah, Ghulam Qadir Leghari, on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of Rasool Bux Brohi murder case to July 14 after the police failed to produce the accused in court.

Line officer Abdul Rauf Jamali submitted an application to the court stating that the accused including suspended SP of Lyari Task Force, Chaudhry Aslam, DSP Irfan Bahadur, Inspector Sarwar and Inspector Ishaque Lashari could not be brought from central jail Karachi and produced in court because the prisoner van had developed a fault due to rains.

The family members of late Rasool Bux Brohi including his wife Lal Bibi and father Mohammad Ismail Brohi had also come to attend the proceedings of the case.

Rasool Bux Brohi, a labourer, was allegedly killed in a fake encounter by Lyari Task Force, which claimed after the killing that he was a notorious dacoit Mashooq Brohi.

ARRESTED: Police arrested more than five people after raids on Wednesday and claimed to have found stolen goods, a snatched tractor and a motorcycle in their possession.

SP Investigation Syed Ghayasuddin Rashidi told journalists that police arrested Iman Khanzada and Mir Hassan Keerio who were involved in pulling robbery in the house of Dr Khalid Khanzada in Sakrand and found gold and valuable articles in their possession.

He claimed that police also arrested Ghulam Shabbir Leghari and found a motorcycle in his possession, which he had snatched from Bux Ali Lashari in the jurisdiction of Pubjo police station.

In a raid, he said that police nabbed Ashraf Rahu and Anwar Rahu, who confessed to committing robbery in the house of Shahnawaz Rahu in Qazi Ahmed and found all the stolen goods including gold ornaments in their possession.

Police also arrested Rab Nawaz Awan in Tando Allahyar and found a tractor belonging to Mohammad Ashraf Ghumman in his possession. He had snatched the vehicle in the jurisdiction of B-section police station, he said.
