KHAAR, July 5: Suspected militants have threatened to carry out suicide attacks across the country in revenge for the killing Lal Masjid students. Pamphlets purportedly distributed by the Mujahideen-i-Bajaur in villages and towns of the agency on Thursday warned of attacking public places across the country and paramilitary forces in tribal areas.

The pamphlet said: “Mujahideen strongly denounce operation and killing of students in Lal Masjid and they will take revenge by carrying out suicide attacks.”

Following the distribution of the pamphlets, the political authorities tightened security and increased the number of paramilitary forces at checkposts in the agency. Security has also been beefed up along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Meanwhile, a medicine shop was blown up in the Mamond tehsil of the agency on Wednesday night. The explosion did not cause any casualty, residents said.

They said that the explosion completely damaged the shop owned by Noorul Haq.
