KHAIRPUR, July 6: Water level in River Indus at Sukkur and Guddu barrages has increased after recent rains. The upstream flow at Guddu barrage on Friday was recorded at 263027 cusecs, while downstream at 228036 cusecs.

At Sukkur barrage, the upstream water flow remained at 1,96,522 cusecs and downstream at 1,59,392 cusecs.

According to irrigation sources there had been an increase of about 50,000 to 60,000 cusecs of water at Guddu and Sukkur barrages due to monsoon season and the level was likely to increase in next 24 hours.

On the other hand, due to continuous rain, the closed canals of both east and west division of Khairpur district from Sukkur barrage had been opened and few feet water had been released in Mirwah and Khairpur west feeder during last 48 hours.
