KHAIRPUR, July 14: A large number of lawyers took out a procession on Saturday against delay in the arrest of accused involved in house robbery by the A-Section Police. The rally led by Mohammad Ali Bhutto started from the Media Centre Civic Centre Chowk where protesters chanted slogans against the Khairpur police.

Lawyers told reporters that some unidentified armed persons entered the house of a senior lawyer Liaquat Bhutto, held the inmates hostage, tortured womenfolk and robbed valuables including cash, gold ornaments in broad daylight from Jeelani Mohallah Khairpur on Friday.

They said police had not taken any action into the matter except visiting the place of incident.

They threatened to continue their protest within one week or else they’ll continue their strike till the accused arrested.
