PESHAWAR, July 16: Shahrukh Arbab, special secretary to the NWFP chief minister, on Monday distributed relief goods among flood-affected people of Sarasang village, Charsadda district, assuring them that the provincial government would extend them support.

Speaking on the occasion,

Mr Arbab said that recent floods had swept away houses of the people living along the Kabul and Swat rivers, besides damaging their crops and livestock.

He said that swift relief measures of the provincial government had helped mitigate the suffering of the people.

The secretary distributed relief goods to heads of 16 families whose houses were swept away in the floods. Relief goods distributed included tents, blankets, flour and pulses.

The people of the area thanked the provincial government for quick relief measures such as distribution of tents, blankets and edible goods and appreciated the services rendered by the livestock department for setting up mobile veterinary camps in the area.—APP
