KARACHI, July 23: Reigning national champion Naveen Perwani takes on Shehram Changezi in his opening match when the 16th Snooker Cup ranking championship breaks off at the snooker complex in Islamabad on Tuesday with country’s top sixteen cueists vying for glory.

According to draws released by the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA), the participants have been equally drawn in four groups. Every player is slated to play two group matches on the opening day.

The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played on Thursday while curtain falls on Friday.

The event carries a total prize money of Rs1,50,000 with winner getting Rs50,000 and runner-up Rs35,000.

Asian bronze medallist Khurram Agha is the defending champion.

Meanwhile, the formal opening of the venue will be held on Wednesday.
